From humble beginnings as the only son to Liberian immigrants, Rennie Flomo Curran Jr. has been taught the importance of family, ultimate humility and sacrifice. At 10 years old, a driven Rennie Curran discovered his love for the gridiron. His natural agility and ability to make sound decisions on the field are fundamental elements that have aided in Rennies current success. As a standout both athletically and academically at Brookwood High School in Snellville, GA, Currans determination on the football field and in the classroom were factors in his ability to pursue higher education and establish himself as a collegiate athlete at the University of Georgia. While at UGA, Rennies tenacity on the field led to a multitude of nationally recognized awards and athletic performances that are archived in the record books.
Commencing from a legacy that has overcome civil war and economic depravity, Currans family influences have always been focuses on love, education and perseverance. Detouring the cycle and hopes to positively impact the lives of his family domestically and aboard, Rennie Curran decided to enter the 2010 NFL Draft. As the first University of Georgia player selected for the 2010 NFL Draft, Curran continues to defy odds and exceed all expectations. As a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award to the ALL-SEC First Team by the Associated Press, Rennie Curran has and will continues to exhibit his athletic and leadership abilities on the field and in the community.
